For anything longer than an Olympic distance triathlon (10km run off the bike) you should wear socks.

This is a nice family friendly picture of my feet after my first 70.3 in St Croix.  I had no idea that you should wear socks for longer races.

The fun part was I had to do a V02 Max treadmill test 2 days after the race.  I am not sure which hurt more; my first 1/2 Ironman or the 10 minute treadmill test.

What happens when you don't wear socks for long distance races.
